North of the Shedwan Islands lies Abu Nuhas, known as the graveyard of the Red Sea. The shipwrecks Chrisoula K, Kimon M, Carnatic, and Giannis D lie here on the seabed and offer a fascinating diving experience. The area is littered with debris and the underwater landscape is breathtaking. The wreck of the Carnatic is considered one of the most beautiful in Abu Nuhas. The ship, which fell victim to a storm on its way from Bombay to Suez, is populated by schools of glass fish and offers a picturesque backdrop for underwater photographers. The Giannis D, which also lies on the seabed, is home to a variety of marine life, including scorpionfish and batfish.
The dives to these wrecks not only offer the opportunity to explore the history of the sunken ships, but also the chance to encounter curious dolphins that like to swim around here. However, divers should note that Abu Nuhas is exposed to currents and waves and should exercise appropriate experience and caution. In strong winds, our captain will offer a drift and pick-up service.
